Continuing Education & Customized Training Staff
Calli Ekblad, Director of Business Relations, Red Wing
Calli has over 34 years of experience in the Continuing
Education and Workforce Training department at Minnesota State College Southeast She works with individuals and businesses alike in setting up
continuing education classes that individuals need for upgrading, retraining, or
a new position. Calli also serves as our grant coordinator and has
secured over 46 grants working with local businesses to help train employees in
areas that are essential in keeping the company moving forward. She is
based on the Red Wing campus.
Calli completed her degree from Riverland in Supervisory
Management and Quality. She has served as the co-chair of the
Southeast Minnesota Training Consortium in the health care cluster for two
years and was active as the leader in 4-H for over 13 years. She and her
husband, Grant, have two kids and four grandchildren and enjoy spending time
Katie Hardyman, Director of Business Relations, Red Wing
Katie is a Red Wing native with over 25 years of sales and
marketing experience. She is based on the Red Wing campus where her main
responsibility is working with area employers to develop customized training
and consulting solutions for their workforce. Community outreach is also
an important part of her duties, working closely with the Red Wing Area
Manufactures Association, Hiawatha Valley Society for Human Resource Management, and the Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce.
Graduating with honors, Katie received a B.S. in
Business-Risk Management from St. Cloud State University. She is a proud
supporter of Red Wing Athletics and is the past president of the Red Wing
Booster Club. She and her husband, Doug, have two boys, both of whom are
taking classes in the Minnesota State system!
Seth Flatten, Business Relations Specialist, Winona
Seth Flatten graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a Music Industry bachelor of science degree and a minor in Business Law. After college, he worked as a student support specialist at Macphail Center for Music in Minneapolis and then in member services for Health Partners. He worked in human resources at Fastenal before coming to Minnesota State College Southeast in 2017. Now based at the Tandeski Center in Winona, Seth provides all aspects of support for the Continuing Education and Customized Training division of the college. He serves as the point person for managing the online registration system for continuing education classes.
Seth lives in Winona with his wife and two dogs. He has grown his hair out twice to donate it to a charity that helps children with hair loss. Singing is his lifetime passion and he currently performs in an a capella quartet called Johnson Street Underground.
