The software below can be loaded and installed on your local machine - at home or at college - to help you use internet services, improve your computer performance and enhance efficiency.

The software has been tested by its developers and should be safe to use. If you are experiencing problems with it, you need to contact the developer. Be careful to install the software that suits your computer and your operating system.

Internet Explorer Browser
Internet Explorer (IE) is the most common browser in use today. The college recommends using the latest version of IE to properly interface with all Southeast Technical college portals.

Firefox
After IE, Firefox is the most common browsers. Firefox is a highly functional, free browser that is a good alternative to Internet Explorer.

Apple Quick Time
Quick Time lets you add more than 200 digital media capabilities and components to your Mac or PC.

Shockwave, Flash & Authorware
Adobe's Shockwave and Flash Player plug-ins let you experience automation and entertainment in your Web browser. Updating to the latest Flash Player plug-in is highly recommended.

SVG Viewer
This Adobe product is similar to Macromedia's Flash. It is used to provide high quality graphics on the web.

Adobe Acrobat Reader
View and print millions of documents on the Web with the free Adobe® Acrobat® Reader.

VLC Player
Students have the best luck with this free universal audio/video player.

Real Networks RealPlayer
Play online audio and video content.

Microsoft Media Player
Windows Media Player supports Windows Media (WMA,ASF), MP3, WAV, MIDI, AVI, and other formats.

Through Visual Paradigm Academic Partner Program, MN State College - Southeast Technical is granted license for modeling software - VP-UML, BPVA, AG for educational use.
