MSC Southeast honors Don & Donna Peterson with plaque in MSC Southeast Welding Lab, Winona Campus
Winona, MN (September 19, 2017) -- On Monday, September 18, 2017, Minnesota State College Southeast dedicated a plaque in the college's Winona campus welding lab in honor of Winona residents Don and Donna Peterson.
Through the years, Don Peterson's appreciation for practical education has motivated him to be extremely generous with Minnesota State College Southeast. Don has given countless hours of service to MSC Southeast Foundation, funded student scholarships, and donated equipment and supplies from his business, Mississippi Welders Supply. His wife, Donna Peterson, is also a lifelong supporter of education. She taught home economics for many years and continued pursuing her love of education by substitute teaching and volunteering for numerous organizations.
College president Dr. Dorothy Duran, Dean of Trade and Technology Travis Thul, and welding program lead instructor Casey Mann shared remarks before the plaque was unveiled. Don Peterson also addressed the group, which included friends, family, college supporters, instructors, students, and staff members as well as welding industry professionals.
Quoting from the text of the plaque, Travis Thus said, "Together, Don and Donna exemplify personal commitment to the community. We thank them for their exceptional support of Minnesota State College Southeast."
