The On-Screen Keyboard, More Secure Password Entry

Unfortunately more virus/trojans are set to capture your keystrokes and send that information to the hacker. Keylogger's capture the letters you type in using the keyboard.

The Good News

There is a very simple way to keep your online passwords secure. Better yet, for most windows users this tool is FREE.
All Windows versions since XP have a free virtual keyboard installed already. This is called the On-Screen Keyboard (OSK).

You can keep your information more secure if you use this "virtual keyboard" to enter your codes, passwords, etc. Because the virtual keyboard's letters are selected by using the mouse there are no key strokes for keyloggers to capture.

How to use the On-Screen Keyboard

Use your pc & keyboard as normal until you come to an area with data you want protected.
Use the virtual keyboard for entering personal date like: login/password/credit card number/social security number/etc…

To load the program simply do this (don't enter the quotation marks):

Step 1: User left click on "Start"
Step 2: User left click on "Run..." in the Start menu
Step 3: In the "Open:" box type in "OSK" and press the Enter key. (Watch Video)
Step 4: Move the mouse pointer to the area where the data is to be entered and click (you’ll see a flashing vertical bar now).
Step 5: Use the mouse on the virtual keyboard to enter your data for that area. Repeat Steps 4&5 until you enter all protected data.
Step 6: Close the virtual keyboard and continue with normal use. (Watch Video)

Making a Shortcut

If you plan to use this alot, you may want to make a windows shortcut.
To create the shortcut do this (don’t enter the quote signs):

Step 1: User right click on "Desktop (list)" in "Program Manager"
Step 2: User left click on "New"
Step 3: User left click on "Shortcut"
Step 4: In the "Type Location” box enter "c:\windows\system32\osk.exe"
Step 5: User left click on "Next"
Step 6: In the "Type a name" box enter "Virtual Keyboard"
Step 7: User left click on "Finish" (Watch Video)
