Types of Tutoring
Professional Tutors are tutors who have degrees in and/or have worked in the fields in which they tutor. Professional tutors are available on both campuses.
PALs (Peer Assistant Learners) are student tutors who have demonstrated an understanding of their course content. They attend course classes with students, and lead group learning sessions to engage students in discussions and activities that promote a deeper understanding of course concepts.
Peer Tutors are current students who have been identified by instructors as someone who excelled in the subject area they tutor for. They also have good communication skills and have completed a training session, so they understand tutoring techniques and practices.
