Social Security Number not required for admission
Providing a Social Security Number (SSN) is not required when you apply for admission to the college. Providing a Social Security number is voluntary. If students choose not to provide this number, their applications will still be processed.
The Social Security number is requested for purposes of administration, program evaluation, and consumer and alumni data. The number may also be used to create summary information about Minnesota State programs through data matches with other state agencies.
Note: The SSN is required when applying for financial aid.
