The Dish
What’s more important: paying for college, paying your rent, or buying groceries? SNAP provides monthly benefits to help you pay for food, so you don’t have to choose.
Worrying about having enough money for food or being able to afford your rent can affect your academic performance.
Minnesota State College Southeast is now working with the Minnesota SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) to offer education and training services to our students who are also receiving SNAP benefits.
We’re calling this new program "The Dish." We know that when students don’t complete their education, it’s often because of outside pressures such as finances, food insecurity, childcare, access to housing and transportation, or other non-academic issues.
The Dish will help students overcome these obstacles. We will give you our TIME, we will give you our ATTENTION, to ensure your GRADUATION.
How can The Dish program help you?
The Dish will provide dedicated academic and financial assistance to eligible MSC Southeast students.
Nationwide, SNAP programs are under-utilized by college students. There are many reasons students don’t access SNAP, including stigma and confusion about student eligibility.
If you are not currently registered with MN SNAP, but think you might be eligible, let us know. We can help you get started with the process.
How can I participate in The Dish?
Please download the appropriate pre-enrollment form, fill it out, and return to appropriate contact on each campus:
