This year Minnesota State College Southeast is honoring 50 years of teaching lutherie - the art of string instrument repair. We invite alumni, past faculty, prospective students, and anyone interested in music to Red Wing to celebrate our Guitar Repair & Building and Violin Repair & Making programs at special events in May 2025.

Reception and Open House
Campus and lab tours every half hour
Lunch available for purchase
Anniversary cake, coffee, and lemonade
Bookstore open for t-shirt sales
Open acoustic jam session
Historical program photos slide show
Program recognizing past faculty at 12:00 noon
Alumni are invited to bring an instrument they have made for display; contact Tim (treede@southeastmn.edu) if interested
1 to 4 pm:
Student Guitar Show
Display of student-made flattop, archtop, and classical guitars plus mandolins, electric guitars, and basses
Acoustic instruments will be played in concert by professional guitarists Mike Cramer, Phil Heywood, and Chris Silver
