It’s very important that you understand how much college costs, how to pay your college bills, and what resources are available to help you with your expenses.

In the Right Direction Videos

We have created a video series to help you navigate the online systems you will use to manage your college expenses. Check out In the Right Direction to learn about these important topics:

  • Financial Aid and Billing & Payment
  • Loan Entrance Counseling & Master Promissory Note (MPN)
  • Direct Deposit

About your bill

  • Paper invoices are not sent by mail. You are responsible for checking your account through Student eServices.
  • You must meet the minimum payment requirement by the Tuition Arrangement due date to avoid being dropped from your courses.
  • You do not have to pay your full tuition bill at one time.  Learn about the Nelnet payment plan through Nelnet Campus Commerce.
  • Check your student account and email often for important notifications.

Financial Aid

Whether you're just starting out in college, or continuing your college career, you're probably concerned about paying for college! Unless you can afford to pay for everything yourself, you will need to find other sources of funding to cover college costs, such as tuition, fees, books, supplies, tools, and living expenses.

  • Our financial aid department will help you with student loans and grants. The first step is filing the FAFSA. Financial Aid Application Process
  • Make sure you file the FAFSA every year, not just your first year in college.
  • Even if you don't think you will qualify, you should still file the FAFSA. You never know!
  • Minnesota State College Southeast Foundation offers student scholarships. Be certain to apply for Foundation scholarships by the posted deadlines. See: Foundation Scholarships
