Starfish - Student Support Portal
Starfish is a tool that provides you with a central location to connect to the people and services that can help you reach your academic goals at Minnesota State College Southeast. It enables you to effectively engage with the Minnesota State College Southeast community and ultimately achieve your academic goals.

What can I do in Starfish?
My Success Network
The Success Network gives you quick access to your professors, advisor, and many service areas available to you at Southeast. Easily find the email addresses, phone numbers, and other information that can help aid in your success. You may even find that your advisor, faculty member(s) or services have enabled online appointments, allowing you to easily schedule a meeting!

Services
The services area allows you to locate resources, find relevant contact information for those resources, and find out more about how the services can support you while enrolled at Southeast. It is available through the My Success Network under Your Services, by clicking on "Show Other Services", or by using the "Search services and people" search box.
Other Options
Success Plans
You may have a Success Plan listed in the Student Success Portal if you fit a specific population or demographic for which a success plan has been created.
Raise Your Hand
Choose a Raise Your Hand option to receive assistance from various departments and/or for various needs.
Referrals
You may receive a referral from a faculty or staff member. Your personalized referral will email you with the necessary contact information for relevant services and allow you to follow-up.
Flags
Flags are alerts that faculty or staff members may raise if they have a concern about your academic progress. Academic flags are sent to you directly, and you are encouraged to take immediate action and contact your instructor for the next steps. Academic flags include:
- Academic Concern
- Attendance/Participation Concern
- In Danger of Not Passing
- No Show (used during the first two weeks of the semester)
Flag Use example: You suddenly stop attending class. Your professor may raise the flag, Attendance/Participation Concern, and add a comment. You will receive an email to allow for immediate action.
Kudos
Kudos praise you for the work you have done, the improvements you have made, and more!
Schedule Appointments
You will be able to schedule appointments with staff that have set up their office hours in Starfish.
Surveys
You will be able to complete any student survey that Southeast has created for you to complete. A great place to start is to complete the "Tell Us About Yourself" survey.
Set up your profile
Add your picture, personal email address, cell phone number, and identify your gender pronouns to increase faculty and staff connections. Be sure to add an alternate/personal email address and update your email preferences to "Also send notifications to my alternate email address" so you can get messages to both your Minnesota State College Southeast and personal email accounts. Finally, confirm that your time zone is accurate. Get started today!
